Prior to starting Veza, I was Co-Founder and CEO of Datos IO (acq. by Rubrik), first PM responsible for beyond backup products at Data Domain (acq. by EMC), and several storage research projects at IBM Research (Almaden).

Maohua Lu
Maohua Lu Ph.D has a long history of work experience. In 2004, they were a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University. In 2008, they were a Technical Intern at Symantec Research Lab. In 2010, they were a Research Staff Member at IBM. In 2014, they were a Technical Director at Datos IO, Inc. In 2018, they were a Senior Staff Engineer at Rubrik, Inc. Currently, they are Co-Founder and CTO of Veza, a data security platform built on the power of authorization.
Maohua Lu Ph.D. obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University between 2000 and 2004. Later, between 2004 and 2010, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Stony Brook University. Additionally, they have obtained two certificates, a Cassandra Developer Certificate from DataStax in September 2015, and a MongoDB Developer Certificate from MongoDB, Inc. in February 2015.
Prasanna Naik
Prasanna is a product leader at Veza with over 15 years of experience in deep-systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and identity governance. He currently leads the product strategy and execution for Non-Human Identity (NHI) and AI Agent Security, addressing the critical challenges of securing automated and autonomous identities within the enterprise.
Prasanna joined Veza following his role as co-founder of CloudEagle.ai, a SaaS Management and Governance platform. Under his leadership, the platform evolved into a SaaS Identity Governance (IGA) solution to solve complex access and visibility gaps for modern organizations—experience that directly informs his current work in the identity security space.
His technical background includes significant roles at Airbnb, Oracle Cloud, Cisco & Riverbed. At Oracle Cloud he was the youngest Product Manager to lead the launch of IPv6 in the public cloud. At Airbnb, he managed developer platforms, focusing on the scale and resiliency required for global infrastructure.
Today, Prasanna focuses on the practical application of identity-first security in the “agentic era.” He leverages his background in large-scale infrastructure and IGA to build products that ensure secure, least-privilege access for AI Agent and non-human identities across the modern enterprise.
